Saplings Society is a nature-based homeschool co-op dedicated to nurturing a sense of wonder, connection, and belonging. Our mission is to support families in growing strong roots through community-driven learning, seasonal rhythms, and shared experiences that honor the natural world and each child’s unique path.

Founder and Director
Hi! I’m Jessica! A homeschooling mama, community builder, and the founder of Saplings Society. I believe that learning is meant to be lived, explored with muddy boots, curious minds, and the support of a strong, connected village.
My passion for homeschooling grew from the desire to give my children a childhood rooted in wonder, nature, and meaningful relationships. What started as a journey for my own family quickly blossomed into something more, a space where families could come together, grow together, and create lasting memories side by side.
I’m married to my favorite adventure partner. We’re both originally from New York, but we’ve since planted our roots here in Delaware, where we’re raising two curious kiddos and finding joy in the beauty of the outdoors. I also have a nursing degree (fun fact!), but these days my favorite thing to care for is this community and the connections that make it so meaningful.
When I’m not leading a nature class or planning a field trip, you can usually catch me out on a hike, birdwatching with my little ones, solving puzzles at the kitchen table, or playing board games with my crew. I grew up exploring lakes and forests, and it brings me so much joy to pass that same love for the outdoors on to my own kids and the families I’m lucky enough to walk alongside in this journey.
Saplings Society is more than a co-op, it’s a place where families find belonging, childhoods are cherished, and we all get to learn and grow together. I’m so grateful you’re here.
